The flow battery community’s flagship event, the International Flow Battery Forum (IFBF®), will be held June 16-18, 2026 at the InterContinental Hotel in Budapest, Hungary (and online), bringing together 350 flow battery experts from around the world.
IFBF is an annual event that promotes the latest developments in the commercialization and technological advancements of flow batteries, rechargeable electrochemical energy storage systems that store energy in liquid electrolytes.

Target audience and scope
Covering a wide range of interests in research and industrial aspects of flow batteries, the conference brings together users, manufacturers, suppliers, policy makers, academics and students from around the world to raise the profile of flow batteries in the energy storage field.
Program highlights
The IFBF agenda will span three days and focus on recent global developments in flow battery technology, including large-scale installations, AI and data center applications, transportation applications, and research and manufacturing advances, along with policy presentations, panel discussions, and market forecasts.
networking activities
Networking activities will include a conference dinner on June 16th at the historic Gunder Palace, a speed pitch session on June 17th (in which researchers present their research in less than a minute, setting the stage for a poster session and cocktail reception), and a site visit to see the flow battery in operation on June 18th.
Secure your ticket
The exhibition area, located just outside the main conference room, will be nearly full and will be part of a vibrant networking space where attendees can discover the latest technologies, solutions and innovations in the field.
