Instagram finally launches the iPad app

After years of people constantly tweaking Instagram about the release of their iPad apps, social networks are finally launching it today. This means that users no longer need to use the iPhone app. This is not optimized for large screens on iPads or Instagram for the web.

The new app is the default on the reel screen, allowing you to scroll through the larger screen to watch shorter videos.

The iPad app has almost all the features of the phone app when it comes to consumption. The story appears at the top of the app, and you can access various options from the left sidebar, including the next feed, DMS, search, exploration, notifications, and more.

There are three options for your Instagram iPad feed: “Friends” view posts and reels from Mutua. View posts and reels in chronological order with “Latest.” You can also reorder these feeds according to your preference.

Until now, iPad Instagram has been just a blown away iOS app, but it’s not comfortable to watch. The company said it has revamped its experience to fit the big screen. For example, when you’re looking at the reel, you can see the comments on the side.[メッセージ]When in the tab, you can open a specific conversation while watching all the active chats on the left.

Instagram has been around for almost 15 years, but the company has not made the iPad app a priority so far. Instagram head Adam Mosseri said multiple times in the past that the company had been in a hurry to develop an iPad version. Earlier this year, the information reported that Instagram was finally building an iPad app.

This also created third-party viewers like Retro in the past to make the Instagram experience better for iPad users.

The new Instagram app for iPad is available on any iPad running iOS 15.1 or later, the company says.
