JD Vance argues that AI is free from regulations is good for American workers and technological innovators

On Tuesday, Vice President JD Vance said that Trump’s support for AI and innovation should benefit both populists and investments and large tech companies.

“I think there’s too much fear, not just AI is replacing work, rather than increasing a lot of what we’re doing now,” Vance said at the Andreessen Horowitz American Dynamism Summit in Washington, DC.

Vance acknowledged that new technology could lead to specific job movements, as was the case with bank tellers when ATMs were invented, but he said history shows that innovation can ultimately help create more attractive and well-paid jobs.

“What I’m proposing is that each group, our workers, our populists, and the other technological optimists have somehow failed by the government of the last administration, not just by the government of the last administration,” Vance said.

By not imposing critical regulations on AI, the Trump administration promises to give the technological sector freedom to innovate.

The Vice President also argued that the decline in immigration would serve as an obstruction of offshoring by “relocating trade and tariff regimes internationally.”

“The cheap labor is basically crutches and crutches that hinder innovation,” Vance said. “We don’t want people to invest in and build in the United States.”
