After integrating Meta AI with WhatsApp, Instagram, Facebook and Messenger, Meta is deploying a standalone AI app. Announced at Meta’s Llamacon event on Tuesday, the app allows users to access Meta AI in the app, just like the ChatGPT app and other AI assistant apps.
To beat the users, Meta is trying to take advantage of something different from companies like Openai and humanity. Meta already has who you are, who you like, who you like, and who you like, based on years of data that may be shared on Facebook and Instagram.
Meta’s AI apps can be distinguished from existing AI assistants.[draw] The company said about the information you have already chosen to share with your meta product, including your profile and the content you are involved in. So far, these personalized responses will be available in the US and Canada.
It can also provide meta information to remember future conversations with AI. For example, you can tell AI that you are lactose intolerance.
Like other AI products, users need to be aware of how Meta uses the data that they share with their chatbots. META relies on a wealth of user data to strengthen its targeted advertising business, making up a large portion of its revenue.

Meta’s AI app also introduces the discovery feed. Here you can share how to use AI with friends. In the mockup image, Meta asked AI to explain it with three emojis and shared it with a friend. Your interactions with Meta AI will only be shared in your feed if you choose to do so.
This feed could amplify certain generative AI trends, like the recent trends that have tried to make people look like Barbie dolls and Studio Ghibli characters. But again, not every app needs a social feed. We’re looking at you, Venmo.
