Perplexity released Perplexity Labs on Thursday, an AI-powered search engine powered by Google. This is a $20 Pro plan subscriber tool from Perplexity, which allows you to create reports, spreadsheets, dashboards and more.
Perplexity Labs is available on the web, iOS and Android and will soon be in Perplexity’s app for Mac and Windows.
“Perplexity Labs helps you complete a variety of tasks and personal projects,” explains Perplexity in a blog post. “Labs is designed to spend more than 10 minutes and take advantage of additional tools. [to accomplish tasks]advanced file generation and mini app creation. ”
Arrived on the same day that Viral AI Agent Platform Manus released its slide deck creation tool, Labs is part of Perplexity’s efforts that extend beyond the core business of search. Perplexity is currently previewing web browsers, Comet, and read.vc, a social media network for professionals.
Powered by AI, Perplexity Labs conducts research and analysis, takes approximately 10 minutes to create reports and visualizations using tools such as web search, code execution, charting and image creation. Labs can create interactive web apps, bewildered, write code to configure data, apply expressions, and create documents.
All files created during the puzzled lab workflow, such as charts, images, code files, and more are organized from locations that can be viewed or downloaded. According to a blog post from Perplexity, “This enhanced feature allows us to develop a wide range of deliverables for our projects.”
Everything seems good in theory, but AI is an imperfect technology, so labs don’t always reach the mark. Of course, we reserve your judgment until we have the opportunity to test it.
Confusion has increasingly invested in corporate-centric features, and launched enterprise plans last summer, including user management and “internal knowledge search.” The move could be part of the perplexity in favour of the VCS. The confusion is under discussion to raise capital from investors at a $18 billion valuation.
