Openai plans to bring Sora’s video generator to ChatGpt

Openai will eventually integrate AI video generation tool Sora directly into the popular consumer chatbot app, ChatGpt said in its Friday opening hours session at Discord.

Today, SORA is only available through the dedicated web app OpenAI, which was launched in December, so users can access an AI video model with the same name and generate movie clips of up to 20 seconds. However, Rohan Sahai, SORA’s Openai product lead, said the company has plans to put Sora in more places and expand what Sora can create.

Openai initially sold Sora to creatives and video production studios within the months leading up to its launch in December. Currently, the company is working harder to expand the appeal of AI video creation tools.

Sahai said Openai is actively working on ways to make Sora accessible within ChatGpt, and although he married two products, he refused to provide a timeline. Sahai said that the version of SORA that will eventually appear in ChatGpt may not offer the same level of control compared to SORA’s web apps.

Openai may be trying to attract users to ChatGpt by allowing it to generate Sora videos from chatbots. Putting SORA into ChatGPT could encourage users to upgrade to the Premium subscription tier of ChatGPT. This can lead to higher video generation limits.

Sahai is that one of the reasons Openai launched Sora as another web app as another web app was to maintain the simplicity of ChatGpt.

Since its launch, Openai has expanded SORA’s web experience and created a way for users to view SORA-generated videos from their communities. Sahai also noted that Sora’s Sora team is actively looking for mobile engineers and said he wants to “build” Sora’s standalone mobile app.

Openai aims to enlarge Sora’s generation capabilities to images.

Sahai said Openai is working on an AI image generator equipped with Sora and has confirmed rumors of such a project. CHATGPT already supports image generation with Openai’s Dall-E 3 model, but image generators with SORA may allow users to create more photorealistic photos.

Sahai added that Openai is currently working on a new version of the Sora Turbo, a model that features the Sora web app.
