‘RHOSLC’ alum Jen Shah completes prison sentence

“Real Housewives of Salt Lake City” alum Jen Shah completed her federal sentence on Friday after serving 33 months in prison for fraud charges.

“Today, I feel blessed. I feel free. And I’m excited to see what happens next,” the reality star told the Hollywood Reporter Friday.

“Today marks the official completion of my sentence and the closing of a chapter that changed my life and my family forever.” 

In her statement, Shah admitted she “made decisions that had serious consequences, and I accept those consequences.”

Shah also said that during her prison stint, she took the time to “revaluate” her choices and the people she let into her life.

“I can see those things today in a way I couldn’t then, and I take responsibility for the decisions that were mine.”

As she completes her prison sentence, Shah told the outlet, “Today, more than anything, I feel grateful, hopeful and genuinely excited about the future.”

The former Bravo star insisted that there is a lot people don’t know about her story, “including the reasons behind some of the most difficult decisions [she] made,” but that she isn’t interested in “relitigating the past.”

Shah continued, “I’m ready to work. I’m ready to create. I’m ready to laugh, have meaningful conversations, reconnect with people and build things I’m proud of. There are projects ahead that I’m incredibly excited about, and I’ll share more when the time is right.”

On Aug. 21, Page Six exclusively reported that Shah would be free on Friday after spending nearly three years behind bars and almost eight months in home confinement.

“Jen is feeling grateful to put this chapter behind her, get back to work and continue her journey of making things right,” a source exclusively told us.

As Page Six previously reported, Shah was arrested in March 2021 and charged with conspiracy to commit wire fraud in connection with telemarketing and conspiracy to commit money laundering.

She was actively filming “RHOSLC” Season 2 when federal agents arrived to arrest her. Cameras captured the intense moments right before the arrival of Homeland Security and federal agents looking for her on location.

She initially pleaded not guilty to both charges, however, she changed her plea to guilty for the first charge in July 2022.

In January 2023, Shah was sentenced to six and a half years in prison.

She was also ordered to forfeit $6.5 million in assets and pay as much in restitution to her victims, who were hundreds of vulnerable and elderly individuals across the US who lost their life savings to her decade-long telemarketing scam.

During her incarceration, Shah’s sentence was reduced nearly a handful of times for good behavior.

In December 2025, a Bureau of Prisons spokesperson told Page Six that Shah was released from the Federal Prison Camp in Bryan, Texas and “transferred” to “community confinement.”

The spokesperson explained that community confinement “means the inmate is in either home confinement or a Residential Reentry Center (RRC, or halfway house),” but they did not disclose where she was transferred to for safety reasons.

At the time, TMZ reported that she would have five years of post-release supervision, which includes drug and alcohol testing, as well as an outpatient mental health program.

Jen is married to college football coach Sharrieff Shah. The couple share sons Sharrieff Shah Jr., 32, and Omar Shah, 22.

“His love, loyalty, strength and faith have been among the greatest blessings of my life,” she told the Hollywood Reporter of her husband. “Being home with him and our family for this anniversary isn’t something I take lightly. It is a gift.”
