According to a blog post by one of Pesto’s founders, Data Label Startup Scale AI hired the team behind Pesto AI.
Founded in 2017 by Ayush Jaiswal and co-founder of Indian Food Delivery Platform Swiggy, Plague AI is supported by Product Hunt’s Ryan Hoover and Gumroad’s Sahil Lavingia. According to CrunchBase, it has raised over $8 million in funding.
The Plague will shut down its operations. According to the LinkedIn page, Pesto had 71 employees, but it is not clear how many of them are participating in Scale AI.
“At the beginning of this year, I made an exciting decision to join the scale. This move marks the next chapter in my long-standing journey, showing how we can leverage the power of AI to create meaningful opportunities for people around the world.”
Previous reports on the plague suggest that startups were also involved in the early years of development education.
Scale AI did not immediately return a request for comment.
