Lucid Motors plans to resume customer delivery of new all-electric gravity SUVs at the end of April. Getting gravity into customers is a major milestone for Lucid. Its success depends on being able to offer popular vehicle types for American drivers.

Gravity is Lucid’s second vehicle and the first SUV after the Lucid Air Sedan series. Lucid opened an order for a seven-seater SUV in November 2024, and began its first delivery to employees, friends and family in December.

“We’ve almost finished building all the vehicles we wanted to put them in the studio and put them on our test drive,” Lucid interim CEO Marc Winterhoff said on Thursday evening at a brand activation event in New York City. “And by the end of April, we will resume delivery of gravity customer.”

Speaking to TechCrunch at the event, Lucid employees featured a surprising mini-performance from careful clay, but confirmed that the EV maker was busy increasing gravity production at Casa Grande, Arizona. Aside from Hiccups, the US-based factory will undoubtedly benefit from EV startups amid President Donald Trump’s new 25% car rate.

The $94,900 gravity has an official EPA range estimate of 450 miles and sports car performance. This is due to advanced battery technology that allows for a lighter, dense battery packed with punches.

“With clear gravity, you don’t have to compromise, you get everything,” Winterhoff said.
