Tapestry’s app can now delete social feeds

A new app designed to organize the Open Social Web, Tapestry adds valuable features to help people keep up with multiple social networks. This will remove duplicate posts from your feed. This means that if you follow the same person across social networking services like Bluesky or Mastodon, and if you share it in multiple locations, you don’t need to see their posts appear twice in your feed.

A new feature called Crosstalk is rolling out in the Tapestry 1.1 iOS update on Tuesday. This is a substantial update following the February 2025 release.

Tapestry was built by the same team that developed a third-party Twitter client Twitterific, which has won awards over the past few years, and helps create the word “tweet” that describes Twitter posts. With Tapestry, the team has transformed their vision into an emerging open social web where a decentralized, open source platform and technology are trying to loosen control over Big Tech’s web. Instead of billionaires owners like Meta’s Mark Zuckerberg and X’s Elon Musk, Open social networks have put controls back into the hands of web users.

In some places, users can use open technology to track shared posts. This includes social posts about apps like Bluesky and Mastodon, as well as other sources with RSS, such as blogs, Tumblr and Reddit updates. YouTube videos; Podcasts; More. Tapestry users can also combine these sources to create their own custom feeds.

However, one of the bigger challenges with multi-feed aggregation apps like Tapestry is that other users often face duplication as they cross-post updates to multiple services such as Mastodon, Bluesky, and Micro.Blog.

The latest Tapestry update can now automatically filter out these replicas even if the posts aren’t written exactly the same. For example, if you edit a long Mastodon post to meet Bluesky’s 300 character limit, Tapestry can detect the difference and hide duplicate posts.

Users can choose whether to hide duplicate posts, “muffle” them, or mute them to remove them entirely from the feed.

This is because Tapestry is looking for text that is repeated from the same author across multiple feeds, so it is not necessarily a word word match.

The updated version of the app also includes a feature called QuickLinks. This is a shortcut for your favorite timeline or custom feed. Users can toggle between up to four different timelines by pushing out the feed icon on the app’s toolbar for a long time. (These customizations are also device-specific, meaning people can choose to have different favorites on their iPhones and iPads.)

Another small tweak is unfolded, and includes easy-to-access buttons that will update your feed and jump to the feed location. This can be found in the left left menu button. Users can also customize feeds from the item’s actions menu and exchange app icons, among other things.

The Tapestry app is downloaded for free to the App Store with in-app purchases. Monthly or annual subscriptions are available for $1.99 or $19.99, respectively. Alternatively, people can purchase the Lifetime Pass for $79.99.
