The next major AI model of humanity may arrive within a few weeks

According to a report from Information on Thursday, AI startup humanity is preparing to release the next major AI model.

The report describes future models of humanity as “hybrids” that can switch between “deep reasoning” and fast responses. The company reportedly introduces “slide scale” along with the model, allowing developers to control costs as developers consume more computing.

According to the report, the human model that could arrive within a few weeks is superior to Openai’s O3-Mini-High “inference” model for several programming tasks. This model is also said to be excellent at analyzing large codebases and other business-related benchmarks.

Mankind CEO Dario Amody hinted at the new model in an interview with TechCrunch’s Romain Dillet on Monday.

“We generally focus on trying to think of ourselves for better differentiated models of reasoning,” Amodey told Dillett. “We’re a bit baffled by the idea that there’s a regular model and there’s an inference model, and they’re different from each other.”
