CloudFlare wants to pay AI companies. Cloud infrastructure providers, which boost around 20% of the web, are launching new experiments that allow publishers to bill AI companies every time a bot rubs down their site. This is called Pay per crawl and allows you to reconstruct how you access content and how it is monetized online.

Today, Kirsten Korosec and Max Zeff Dig will be holding a big CloudFlare swing on TechCrunch’s equity podcast. After laying the foundation for a year of bot blocking tools, why it’s a natural next step, and whether the plan to sit at the heart of the payroll content protocol is a genius, or just wishful thinking.

Listen to the entire episode and hear the following:

Ice Block is an app for reporting ice sightings anonymously and has been word-of-mouthed thanks to the backlash from former prosecutor Pam Bondi. Iceblock is currently one of the most downloaded free iPhone apps in the US, with revenue growth of 48% saying why Figma’s S-1 filing can set the stage for a smash hit IPO and demand for design tools.

Equity will be back next week. Enjoy a long holiday weekend for all of America!

Equity is TechCrunch’s flagship podcast produced by Teresa Loconsolo, posted every Wednesday and Friday.
