1. WalkingPad C2 Foldable Walking Treadmill

If you have a desk job, it can be difficult to fit enough movement into your day. That’s why many health-conscious employees working from home use walking pads to increase their daily step count in their busy lives.

The WalkingPad C2 folding treadmill is a good option to consider for this purpose, especially for those working in limited space. It can be folded in half, so when not in use, it can be neatly stored only under furniture that is fairly high off the ground. The walking pad is over 4 inches thick when folded, so it may be more practical to store it under a table rather than slip it under the couch. The C2’s foldable design means it won’t take up too much space in your living space. It also has wheels on one end, so you can move it in front of the TV while you munch on The Bachelor.

With a top speed of 6 km/h, the WalkingPad C2 comes with a convenient 3-button remote control to adjust your pace. There’s also an automatic mode that ostensibly detects your speed and adjusts accordingly, but Mashable’s testing found it to be unstable and accelerate too quickly (especially dangerous considering the C2 has no handlebars). Still, manual mode has just what you really need and is fun and easy to use. Combined with its fold-and-storage feature, the WalkingPad C2 becomes an attractive option for apartment dwellers.

2.Xenjoy cube cycle

Walking pads are a popular option for desk-based exercise, but the movement involved can make it difficult to use your mouse at the same time. And if you’re simply looking to watch Netflix to distract yourself from your cardio workout, the sound is often louder than ideal.

The Xenjoy Cube Cycle is a compact under-desk exercise bike that addresses both of these issues, running virtually silently while also increasing upper-body stability. It has 8 resistance settings that you can adjust depending on whether you want a short, intense workout or a long, gentle session, and it comes with a simple digital speed and distance counter to track your workout.

In addition to its relatively discreet size, the Xenjoy Cube Cycle features wood-grain panels that make it visually appealing compared to other exercise equipment. The underside of the synthetic leather seat has a rough texture that looks like it’s been stapled together, which really detracts from the luxury feel the Xenjoy is aiming for, but fortunately you don’t usually see it unless you’re driving the Cube Cycle. This bike can be easily moved by tilting it to the front wheel and rolling it into place, and the digital counter runs on AAA batteries, so there’s no need to connect it to a power source.

If you’re looking for a serious workout, the Xenjoy Cube Cycle may not be for you. However, if you want to incorporate a little more movement into your daily life, don’t want to overwhelm your home with large machines, or are concerned about aesthetics, this may be something to consider.

3. Withings Body Scan Smart Scale

One of the keys to good health is consistency. Still, it’s easy to give up when the mirror doesn’t seem to reflect any of the effects of your regular workouts.

Withings’ Body Scan smart scale helps you meet this challenge by measuring not only your weight but also your body composition, showing you progress that might otherwise be difficult to see. Body scans using handheld electrodes utilize bioelectrical impedance analysis (BIA) to measure fat and muscle percentages. This means that even if your weight seems to be plateauing, you can rest easy knowing that your efforts are still paying off in the form of fat loss and muscle gain.

Withings says Body Scan’s handheld electrodes make it more accurate than the Body Comp smart scale, which uses the user’s feet to measure body composition. Still, both scale sets are suitable if you want to track trends in muscle to fat percentage, which is the most important data for many users. At the end of the day, fitness is a journey, not a destination.

4. RAD One V2 Gym Shoes

Dedicated gym shoes are not strictly speaking essentials for training. Countless people work out every day wearing beat-up old sweatshirts. Still, choosing your shoes carefully can make your workout more comfortable and reduce your risk of injury. So if you’re looking to upgrade your gym gear, the RAD One V2 shoes are worth considering.

Designed specifically for the gym, the RAD One V2 has a wide toe box for added stability when lifting your foot, but fits snugly around the heel for a secure fit, even for people with wide feet. It also has a sole with high grip, so your foot won’t shift even when you put your weight on it. This grip makes the RAD One V2 particularly suitable for activities like CrossFit, but also makes it a great all-rounder in the gym.

The aesthetic of the RAD One V2 may not be for everyone, but it does feature a contrasting colored wave pattern along the side of the shoe. However, if you choose a color scheme where the waves are the same color as your shoes, this will be much less ostentatious.

5. Samsung Galaxy Watch 8

Fitness trackers have become a ubiquitous gadget for anyone interested in monitoring their health. Most products measure data such as heart rate and steps taken throughout the day, and track exercise and sleep.

The Samsung Galaxy Watch 8 does all of this, but takes it a step further by introducing an antioxidant index (we’re not kidding). This interesting new feature measures the user’s carotenoids, which are pigments found in plants. Just press your thumb on the back of your Watch 8, and a light-activated sensor detects carotenoids in your skin, providing an indication of whether you’re getting enough fruits and vegetables in your diet. (Spoiler alert: you probably aren’t.)

Skin carotenoids are highly correlated with blood carotenoids, which are widely used as an indicator of human vegetable intake. The powerful antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties of carotenoids play an important role not only in aging, but also in suppressing cancer and chronic diseases, so we should strive to ensure that these levels are maintained.

Diet is an important part of the health puzzle, but it’s difficult for fitness trackers to assess. The Samsung Galaxy Watch 8’s Antioxidant Index provides a handy reminder to add more vegetables to your plate, and may help you be more conscious of what you eat.
