9 US startups raised over $100 million in 2025

Last year was a monumental year for the American and subsequent AI industry.

According to counts at TechCrunch, there were 49 startups raising more than $100 million in 2024. Last year, three companies raised multiple “mega rounds,” while seven companies raised the rounds for over $1 billion.

How will 2025 compare? It’s still early in the year, but the number of American AI companies that raised more than $100 million is almost double digits, with already a single digit increase in rounds over $1 billion.

Here are all the US AI companies that have raised over $100 million so far.

Humanity, a research in AI and a large language modeling company, raised $3.5 billion in the Series E round, which valued the startup at $61.5 billion. The round was announced on March 3rd and was led by Lightspeed with participation from Salesforce Ventures, Menlo Ventures, General Catalyst and others.

February

The combined open source generation AI and AI creating AI model development infrastructure raised a $305 million Series B round valued at $3.3 billion. The February 20th round was co-led by Prosperity7 and General Catalyst, along with participation from Salesforce Ventures, Nvidia, Lux Capital and others. AI infrastructure company Lambda has collected the $480 million Series D round announced on February 19th. The round valued the startup at nearly $2.5 billion, co-led by SGW and Andra Capital. Nvidia, G Squared, Ark Invest and others also participated. Pittsburgh-based Abridge is an AI platform that transcriptions of patient clinician conversations, valued at $2.755 billion in the Series D round announced on February 17th. The $250 million round was jointly conducted by IVP and Elad Gil. Lightspeed, Redpoint and Spark Capital also participated. AI legal technology company Eudia has raised $105 million in the Series A round led by General Catalyst. Floodgate, Defy Ventures, and Everywhere Ventures also took part in the round, along with other VC companies and numerous angel investors. The round was closed on February 13th. AI hardware startup AI raised a $100 million Series B round that was closed on February 13th. The Santa Clara-based business was founded in 2022. AI legal technology company Harvey has collected a $300 million Series D round that valued the company three years ago at $3 billion. The round was led by Sequoia and was announced on February 12th. OpenaiStartupFund, Kleiner Perkins, Elad Gil and others also participated in Rais.

January

Synthetic Voice startup ElevenLabs raised a $180 million Series C round and valued the company over $3 billion. It was announced on January 30th. The round was co-led by Iconiq Growth and Andreessen Horowitz. Sequoia, NEA, Salesforce Ventures and others also participated in the round. Hippocratic AI, which develops large-scale language models for the healthcare industry, announced its $141 million Series B round on January 9th. The round was valued at over $1.6 billion and was led by Kleiner Perkins. Andreessen Horowitz, Nvidia and General Catalyst also participated.
