India International Aqua Patel is the last IPL 2025 captain to be appointed as a late announcement by the Delhi Capitals.
Indian spin bowling all-rounder Aquapatel has been selected as Delhi Capital during the new Indian Premier League season, the team said.
The 31-year-old is the longest player on the team he joined in 2019. He scored 967 runs and 62 wickets with an economic rate of 7.09 in 82 appearances for the Capitals.
Axar, who was appointed to India’s Twenty20 International Vice-Captain in January, will take the Delhi captain from Rishabhupand after moving to the Super Giants in Lucknow.
“It’s my absolute honor for the Delhi Capitals captain and I am deeply grateful to the owners and support staff who have put my trust in me,” Aqua said in a statement Friday.
“I have grown as a cricketer and a person while I’m here in the capital. I’m confident I’m ready to lead this side in the future.”

Aqua also played a key role in the Indian Champions Trophy victory earlier this month, winning five wickets at a 4.35 rating and making a key contribution at No. 5.
The capital will launch an IPL campaign in Visakhapatnam with Lucknow on March 24th.
The Kolkata Knight Riders are the only other team that still had to announce the skipper who nominated Ajinkya Rahane as new captain on March 3rd.
