Israeli forces said they targeted military facilities in southern Syria that posed a “threat to the Israeli state.”

At least two people have been killed and 19 people have been injured after an Israeli air force emerged outside the southern province of Della, Syria.

Israeli forces confirmed the strike Monday night, saying they were targeting military locations, including weapons and vehicles belonging to the forces of Syrian President Bashar al-Assad.

The Israeli Army is “surprising military targets in South Syria, including commands and military sites, including weapons and military vehicles currently belonging to the Syrian regime,” the Army statement said, adding that “military assets” “subject to a threat to the Israeli state.”

The Army said “will not allow the presence of military threats in southern Syria and will operate against them.”

The Syrian Human Rights Observatory said Israel targets military locations previously used by Al-Assad’s forces, but is now being used by the Army of the new Syrian government.

However, this is not the first time Israel has targeted South Della, near the Jordanian border. Earlier this month, it targeted several Syrian military assets in the same region.

Israeli military said at the time the military facilities that included bases and radar systems posed a threat that the strike was intended to “eliminate.”

In a report from Damascus, Al Jazeera’s resultsul serdar said four Israeli air forces targeted DERAA on Monday night.

“This is an Israeli strategy [to] They really reduce the military capabilities of the country, especially its defensive capabilities, and now Israel is even further ahead and say they don’t want a military presence in southern Syria,” Selder said.

“Of course, for the government of Damascus [this] It’s a huge and huge challenge, so it actually means they don’t control the southern cities of Syria,” he added.

Since Al-Assad was expelled, Israel has carried out hundreds of airstrikes in Syria, deploying its troops in the UN-patrol buffer zone at Golan Heights.

While Al-Assad was in power, Israel attacked Syria on a daily basis, bombing what he said was a target for Iran and Hezbollah.
