Hungarian Prime Minister Victor Orban said he would not execute a warrant issued for war crimes in Gaza.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is scheduled to visit Hungary this week despite an International Criminal Court (ICC) arrest warrant issued on alleged war crimes in Gaza.

Netanyahu’s trip, announced by his office on Sunday, comes to an invitation from Hungarian Prime Minister Victor Orban.

The scheduled visit from Wednesday to Sunday comes as Orban rejected the warrant when it was announced in November.

Orban is a right-wing nationalist leader, often at odds with the European Union over democratic norms, making it clear that Hungary will not enforce the ICC decision.

According to the Israeli era, Netanyahu will use this week’s visit to Hungary to call for Hungary’s support in Trump’s plan to ethnically cleanse Gaza.

“Netanyahu is trying to build a coalition of countries that could support Trump’s plans in Gaza,” the source told the paper.

Trump announced his vision for Gaza in February, ethnically cleansing Palestinian territory and transforming it into a Mediterranean resort.

Hungary has not publicly commented on Trump’s proposal, but Netanyahu’s visit suggests he is trying to gather international support for his controversial plans.

Hungary, as a member of the EU, is obliged to comply with the ICC’s ruling, but there was no official response from Budapest regarding future visits.

This will be Netanyahu’s second trip to abroad since the ICC issued a warrant to him and former Defence Minister Joa Garant.

In February, Netanyahu traveled to Washington to meet President Donald Trump.

Israel has rejected accusations against its leaders, calling them “false and absurd.” The ICC also issued an arrest warrant for Hamas leader Ibrahim al-Masri.
