Stop Doomscrolling and watch the live stream of “Great Moose Migration”

While we can say that Tiktok is ruining our attention, viewers around the world are adjusting to watch monotonous live streams from Swedish TV stations that they probably haven’t heard of before. It was time for the Great Moose to move.

For thousands of years, Moose has crossed the Ongerman River every spring, trekking to its warm summer habitat. However, since 2019, the whole world can watch the third week as Swedish SVT broadcasters broadcast live streams of the transition online and catch all the painstakingly slow action using over 30 cameras.

Most often, the live stream shows quiet scenes of forests and rivers. If you’re lucky, you may get a glimpse of a moose that doesn’t know the international superstarm blissfully. It’s just a mousse, and in the world you run without worrying about it.

Most of the time, the stream is almost silent. Otherwise, you will hear gusts of wind and chirp from birds. It’s great if you leave the Live Stream tab on your computer open and forget to jump into a pack of creatures thousands of miles away.

As the Swedish student told the AP, “I feel relaxed, but at the same time, I say, “Oh, there’s moose. Ah, what happens if there’s moose? I can’t go to the bathroom!”

Even overnight, the stream continues. Lack of sunlight, distractions – Night vision cameras make sure to check all bits of moose’s content. However, Stark’s black and white images evoke the “Blair Witch Project” more than National Geographic. However, the creepy mousse sightings are still mousse sightings.

Last year, 9 million viewers were adjusted to SVT’s moose stream. By comparison, Discovery Channel’s Shark Week saw over 22 million viewers in 2023. It’s a very impressive comparison, considering that SVT is just streaming live natural feeds with 15 staff members.

What makes this kind of live stream so convincing is that it is very different from what is normally exposed to on the internet. The Tiktok feed shows bite-sized videos that are tailored specifically to your interests. YouTubers meticulously edit the videos and stay involved as long as possible.

But Moose wants nothing from us. They don’t even know we’re here, they’re rooting for them.
