Meeting Blackpool, the town’s meeting agency, on the northwest coast, appointed Rooster, an independent PR and communications agency, to provide mice following the competitive bidding process.
Combining mouse, destination PR, B2B travel and hospitality expertise, Rooster helps raise awareness of seaside resorts as an attractive meeting and event destination for corporate decision makers, event planners and a wider mouse community.
In the brief, Rooster will provide an active press office and media relations strategy, focusing on content generation and spokesman profiling, as well as content generation and spokesman profiling through social media support.
The account victory adds to Rooster’s strong start with the wins of multiple clients, including Trip.com, Hudson Yards New York and SPL Villas.
It is based on the continued success of managing corporate PR for Mice Destination Center PARCS Conferences & Events over the past three years.
“We’re committed to providing a great opportunity to help you,” said James Brooke, managing director at Rooster. “We have steadily built a strong foundation in Mouse Space over the past three years, and winning this bid is an exciting opportunity to continue that momentum and further expand our customer base in the business events sector.
The appointment is part of Blackpool’s broader strategy to generate £2.2 million for the local economy and attract further investment in the region, promoting enquiries and bookings for prominent meetings and events, and increasing the number of representatives visiting Blackpool.
“We’ve been working hard to get the better of our customers,” said Julie Vincent, head of Meet Blackpool. “I was impressed by Rooster’s diverse experiences, creative campaign ideas and clear enthusiasm for their destinations. I can’t wait to see what we can work with over the next 12 months.”
