Hostages and Missing Family Forum called for “return to the negotiation table.”

The families of Israeli prisoners of war in Gaza have intensified criticism of Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu amid massive protests across the country due to attacks on military ground and widespread fatal artillery fire on Palestinian territory.

On Saturday, protesters took them to the streets of Tel Aviv, Shah Hanegef Junction, Kiriyat Gat and Jerusalem and accused the Israeli government of prioritizing securing the return of relatives, along with hostages and members of the missing family forum.

“We request that decision makers return to the negotiation table and not leave it until they reach an agreement to get them all back,” the group said in a statement Saturday.

Among those speaking at the Tel Aviv rally on Saturday was Einav Zangauker, the mother of prisoner Matan Zangauker, who spoke directly to Netanyahu.

The rise in anger among family members has only deepened in recent days after Netanyahu appointed Major General David Ginni as the next head of Israeli national intelligence agency Singh Bett.

According to Israel’s Channel 12, Gini told her colleague at the Israeli military conference at the Israeli military conference, “I oppose the hostage trade.”

“The family of the king is furious at Major Genii’s words. If the publication is true, these are shocking and condemnable words that come from those who determine the fate of the king-kided men and women,” the forum said in a statement Friday.

“Appointing the chief of Singh Bet, who will be the war in Netanyahu before the acquiring of the temptation, is equivalent to committing a crime and cheating on all Israeli people,” the group said.

Reported by Amman, Al Jazeera’s Hamda Sulf said Netanyahu’s new appointment “is why he was chosen because he wants military pressure and escalation in the war with Gaza.”

“However, there has been a lot of international pressure on Netanyahu in recent weeks. They are trying to end the Gaza blockade on Israel, stop the war completely and stop the expanding military operations. The military says all the brigades that were called are currently operating within Gaza.

“The family says that a fierce attack will only kill the remaining prisoners. However, Netanyahu is part of the most right-wing Israeli government in Israel’s history.

It came just a day after Israel’s Supreme Court came in, citing conflicts of interest related to Netanyahu’s ongoing corruption trial, and his attempt to discover that Singh Bet’s chief Rohnen Barr, whom Israel’s Supreme Court resigned, was “illegal.”

Netanyahu proceeded with the appointment of Gini despite the court’s decision that he could not appoint a replacement.

The Attorney General later warned that the Prime Minister had contaminated the appointment process against legal leadership.

Criticism arises as Netanyahu continues to face a request for an international arrest warrant from the International Criminal Court for war crimes committed during the Gaza War.
