Google is releasing a new tool that uses AI to make it easier for Gmail users using Google Calendar to schedule meetings. The company on Tuesday launched its “Help Me Schedule” feature powered by Gemini. This feature suggests an ideal meeting time based on your calendar availability and displays it to the person you’re emailing to set up a meeting.

The company says the feature is designed to work in one-on-one meetings, not multi-contact meetings or group meetings.

The release of this new feature comes amid a flurry of Google Workspace announcements focused on embedding AI more deeply into users’ everyday tools. This includes introducing Google Slides’ latest image editing model, Nano Banana, and Gemini features. A tool to share custom AI assistants called Gems with other team members. New format for NotebookLM. We’ve improved the AI video tools in Google Vids. And so on.

To use meeting scheduling options, click the new[スケジュールのヘルプ]Click the button. This will display a set of free time slots. Click the edit button to change or remove some of the options, insert them into the email, and send it to your recipients as usual. Once the recipient chooses a convenient time, the calendar invitation will automatically appear on both people’s calendars.

Meeting assistants and auto-scheduling tools like Calendly, Doodle, Zoom, and HubSpot are already on the market, but Google points out that their tools use email context when making meeting suggestions using Gemini’s AI. For example, if someone writes in an email that they’d like to book a 30-minute slot next time, Meeting Assistant will only suggest 30-minute slots by next weekend that fit your schedule.

Google previously offered the ability to schedule events in Google Calendar, but it didn’t integrate with Gmail or use AI.

Separately, Google updated another Workplace feature on Tuesday, saying Google Keep reminders are now automatically saved to Google Tasks.
