Xiaomi today launched a number of gadgets ahead of Mobile World Congress (MWC) in Barcelona, including a camera-focused flagship smartphone, an AirTag clone, the Xiaomi Watch 5 smartwatch, and an ultra-slim power bank.
The China-based company has partnered with camera maker Leica to co-brand the smartphone “Xiaomi 17 Ultra.” As part of the partnership, we use Leica lenses and create filters in the German camera company’s style.
The phone has a 50-megapixel main sensor with F/1.67 aperture and 1-inch sensor. However, the biggest attraction is the 200 million pixel telephoto camera with a variable focal length equivalent to 75mm to 100mm. This means you can optically zoom from 3.2x to 4.3x. The phone also has a 50 MP ultrawide camera with f/2.2 aperture.

Also worth noting is that the phone has a 6,000 mAh battery (the Chinese version comes with a larger 6,800 mAh battery). The phone can be charged using 90W USB PD-PPS and supports Xiaomi’s Hypercharge wireless technology at 50W.
The device features a 6.9-inch Xiaomi HyperRGB OLED display protected by Xiaomi’s proprietary Shield Glass 3.0. The company has opted for Qualcomm’s latest Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 processor, which was also used in the recently launched Galaxy S26 series.
The company will also release a special Leica Edition phone to celebrate the camera company’s 100th anniversary. The device features a durable aluminum alloy body with a nickel anodized finish. Xiaomi has also added Leica themes on the software side.

The device has a rotating ring that mimics the zoom of a physical camera. The special edition also features a “Leica Essential Mode” with filters that recreate Leica M9 and Leica M3-like photos.
