Google has officially acquired Israeli cybersecurity company Wiz for $32 billion in cash, a year after the companies announced the deal. This is Google’s largest acquisition in its history.

Wiz provides a security platform that protects major cloud environments by preventing and responding to cybersecurity threats. The company said it will join Google Cloud but maintain its brand and commitment to protecting customers across all cloud environments.

The deal comes after Wiz’s ARR exceeds $1 billion in 2025, according to a person familiar with the matter.

“This acquisition is an investment by Google Cloud to improve cloud security and enable organizations to build quickly and securely across any cloud or AI platform,” Google’s statement reads.

Introducing Wiz is a clear move by Google to win more enterprise clients with its multicloud security platform, as large organizations increasingly operate across different clouds, including Google Cloud, AWS, Azure, and Oracle Cloud.

Together, the companies will work to provide an “unified security platform” that enables organizations to quickly respond to threats. This is an essential task as the rise of vibecoding increases security vulnerabilities and prompt-based attacks become more common. Wiz has leaned into the use of proprietary AI to improve threat detection and investigation at every layer of cloud environments, from code to infrastructure to runtime.

Google initially offered to acquire Wiz in 2024 for $23 billion. Wiz declined the offer. The company’s CEO, Assaf Rappaport, said at the time that he felt the business had the potential to grow much more than that.

Google and Wiz resumed acquisition talks in the first months of 2025, with Google announcing in March 2025 that it would acquire Wiz for $32 billion.

The transaction follows an antitrust investigation and approval from U.S. and European Union regulators in November 2025 and February 2026, respectively.

This article has been updated with more information about the transaction and Wiz’s 2025 financials.
