Picsart, an AI-powered design platform, is launching a creator monetization program, the company exclusively tells TechCrunch. The program is open to all creators and requires no invite list or minimum audience size.
The program allows creators to create original content using Picsart tools for specific campaigns, share it on social channels, and earn money based on audience engagement. Picsart says the program is designed to reward creative output and performance, rather than focusing on size or number of followers.
Picsart is evolving from a creative tool to a platform where creators can earn money by launching the Creator Monetization Program. The company likely sees this move as a way to attract and retain creators.
When creators sign up for the program, they get access to a dashboard that shows all the current prompts and creative challenges they can participate in. For example, a campaign could ask creators to generate cute fluffy creatures using Picsart Aura, the platform’s AI conversational assistant that can generate and animate images and videos through text or voice prompts.
Picsart points out that simply generating and posting AI images without creative effort will not generate meaningful engagement or revenue.

Once content is created, creators fill out a short form with the URL of the asset submitted on social, tag it according to their campaign requirements, and add a short description of how it was created within Picsart. Content is shared directly to the creator’s own Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, and X accounts.
Earnings are calculated based on views, comments, shares, and reach. Creators can track their earnings directly on their dashboard and withdraw funds through Stripe.

“We’ve always believed that creativity should be for everyone, and now the rewards should be as well,” Picsart founder and CEO Hovhannes Avoyan said in a statement. “There’s a structural problem in the creator economy. Platforms have never really committed to rewarding everyday creators. Earning with Picsart is our commitment to the millions of people who make this community what it is. It’s open, it’s structured, and it’s easy. You join, you create, and you get paid when your content performs.”
The company says there are opportunities for creators of all kinds to earn money, including tutorials, aesthetic edits, and short-form videos.
Picsart was founded in 2011 and has over 130 million users worldwide. The company achieved unicorn status in the creator economy boom of 2021.
The expansion into creator monetization comes weeks after Picsart announced it was launching an AI agent marketplace where creators can “hire” AI assistants for a variety of tasks, including resizing and remixing social content and editing product photos on Shopify.
