Google on Thursday announced a new Fitbit Air, a screenless wearable similar to Whoop, priced at $100. The device includes 24/7 heart rate monitoring, heart rhythm monitoring with AFib (atrial fibrillation) alerts, and health and fitness tracking features such as blood oxygen level, resting heart rate, heart rate variability, sleep stages and duration.

The tech giant said in a blog post that the device is aimed at people who find wearable devices too bulky, complicated, and expensive, noting that the Fitbit Air is “simple, affordable, and comfortable enough to wear 24/7.”

Google says the screenless design was created to allow users to “live in the moment.” Track your health and fitness through the Google Health app. This is a rebranded version of the Fitbit app, which Google also announced Thursday.

The new wearable, while staying true to the “Air” brand, is noticeably smaller than previous wearables, 25% smaller than the Fitbit Luxe and 50% smaller than the Inspire 3.

The device automatically tracks common activities and workouts. Google says the experience will be personalized to you and improve over time by learning your habits.

The device weighs 12 grams with the band and 5.2 grams without the band. It can also pair with the Pixel Watch, Google says, so you can use the larger wearable all day and switch to Fitbit Air at night or during a workout for a more comfortable experience.

Fitbit Air has a battery life of up to a week, and fast charging provides a full day’s worth of power in just 5 minutes. It is also water resistant up to 50 meters.

The tech giant also announced that Google Health Coach, an all-in-one fitness trainer, sleep coach, and health wellness advisor powered by Gemini, is now available for Google Health Premium subscribers. Google Health Coach helps with tasks like creating custom workout routines based on your goals and available equipment, and analyzing your sleep habits.

The new wearable will be available in three different bands: the Performance Loop Band, made from recycled materials with a breathable fit, the waterproof Active Band, and the discreet Elevated Modern Band.

Fitbit Air is available for pre-order now and will be available on May 26th.
