According to Georgia Miller’s Law, all you need is a pearly white smile.

“She always uses her smile to her advantage,” actress Brianne Howie said of her role in the Netflix original series “Ginny and Georgia.” “Taking care of her smile is very important to her. We all agree that you look your best when you feel your best. For Georgia and for me, a smile starts with your smile. It’s how you introduce yourself. It’s your first impression.”

That’s why oral care is a non-negotiable part of Howey’s morning and evening routine. “You have to wash your face and brush your teeth, even if it’s super fast. You have to. You can’t sleep with anything on your face, and you have to wash your face as soon as you wake up. And when you’re working, when you’re on set, you have to brush your teeth after lunch. You can’t go back on set and do a scene without brushing your teeth,” she told WWD.

That’s why she always keeps a tube of Colgate toothpaste on hand. “It’s always in my set bag. It’s in my travel bag. It’s on my counter,” she continued.

Howey’s latest campaign with the home oral hygiene brand, “The Science of Wow,” spotlights Colgate’s Optic White Pro Series technology, which targets deep stains using a hydrogen peroxide complex. “We use so many products today that it’s no longer easy to know which products are doing what and where to evaluate them. But with the Colgate Optic White Pro Series, you can see the complex at work. You can see the results of your whitening,” she said.

Similar to her character, Howie is the mother of a girl. “I have a daughter who’s almost 3 years old, and I think that’s changed my outlook on beauty the most because I realized how much she recognizes when I’m doing my hair or when I’m doing my makeup,” Howie said. “My perspective has changed in the sense that I’m constantly reminding her that everything I do, everything I put on my face, everything I put into my body is to keep my body safe and healthy, that it’s not about making anyone look a certain way other than myself, and that the most beautiful part of us is on the inside. It’s our heart. It has nothing to do with the outside.”

This is where she and Georgia differ. “I value my health as much as Georgia and take care of my skin and oral hygiene. But Georgia is weaponizing her body in a way. She dresses for the role every day more than I do. Being a working mom, I feel a little more efficient. It’s the bare minimum I have to accomplish in the morning. Georgia values the luxury of getting ready a little more than I do,” Howie explained.

Georgia, a complex character with a childhood trauma, evolved over three seasons. In the latest film, while under house arrest, the murderous mother of two stops wearing this metaphorical mask and reveals her vulnerability. “Georgia wears this mask all the time to hide who she is because she feels insecure or scared or not good enough. But that has completely changed over the last few seasons, and we see it even more so this season. In her love life, she wears completely different masks with each partner, and in some partners you see more of her true self than in others.”

Season 4 of “Ginny and Georgia” is expected to be released in late 2026 or early 2027.
