Dua Lipa saved her most traditional bridal silhouettes for round two, but traditional silhouettes take on a whole different meaning when Chanel haute couture is involved.
After marrying British actor Callum Turner in a Schiaparelli skirt suit on May 31 at London’s Old Marylebone Town Hall, Ripa and Turner on Saturday released official photos from their second wedding in Sicily. There, the “Levitating” singer showed off her first couture bridal look for a friend, wearing a custom Chanel Haute Couture wedding dress designed by Matthew Blasey.

Lipa opted for a long, form-fitting silhouette with exposed shoulders, a high-jeweled neckline and a skirt that was cut narrowly around the hips before widening below the knees. The halter neck style exposed most of her back, with crystal and pearl-like embroidery draped over her shoulder blades, waist, and hips. The house kept the white surfaces densely beaded to concentrate the softness of the hems, and wispy feathers transformed the otherwise clean columns into textured trumpet shapes.
According to Chanel’s Instagram, the dress features 480,000 hand-embroidered beads by Atelier Montex, 1,155 hours of trompe-l’oeil jewel embroidery by Lesage, and a two-meter train delicately underlined with 25,000 feathers by Lemarié.

Lipa paired the gown with a 20-foot tulle veil, hand-embroidered with beads and feathers and finished with hand-cut organza appliqués, secured under a feathered headpiece. She had her long dark hair slicked behind her shoulders to accentuate the open structure of her custom couture wedding dress. Turner stood next to her wearing a black tuxedo with a satin collar, a white pleated shirt, a black bow tie and a dark red boutonniere.
In Sicily, Ripa moved her bridal wardrobe in the opposite direction from her London public ceremony. So she opted for custom Schiaparelli couture by Danielle Rosebery. A sharply tailored white blazer with a cinched waist and gold beaded buttons, a midi skirt, a dramatic wide-brimmed Stephen Jones hat, white gloves, Christian Louboutin pumps, and a Bvlgari Serpenti necklace. The tailored proportions and wide brim emphasize a decidedly modern take on the bridal suit, while recalling Bianca Jagger’s 1971 wedding style.

In Sicily, Ripa kept her footwear relatively quiet, wearing custom white satin pumps by Massaro. That restraint is completely different from her usual settings.
