Reese Witherspoon went full Elle Woods in New York City on Monday while on tour promoting her upcoming series “Elle” in a vintage Chanel pink skirt suit.

The “Legally Blonde” actress wore a coordinated look from one of the French luxury fashion house’s ’90s collections, which echoed another power skirt suit moment from the 2001 film.
Witherspoon’s pink skirt suit, from a 1995 collection overseen by the late designer and former Chanel creative director Karl Lagerfeld, was made from a thick, wool-like fabric. The jacket had long sleeves, a zipper on the placket, symmetrical chest pockets, a sharp collar, and button motifs on the cuffs.

The skirt features a pencil silhouette design that fits the body. The pink tones of Witherspoon’s look continued with the actress’ Manolo Blahnik strappy heels and Vestirsi handbag, which was coordinated in similar muted pink tones.
The Oscar-winning actress kept her Sheryl Rowe jewelry mostly minimal, except for a ring and dainty earrings. Witherspoon also wore dark sunglasses by Oliver Peoples.

The overall effect was reminiscent of 2001’s “Legally Blonde” wardrobe, which featured the actress wearing an array of pink items, from leather-like skirt suits to summer dresses and more. Sophie de Rakoff served as the film’s costume designer.
Throughout Witherspoon’s Elle promotional tour so far, stylist Petra Flannery has carefully selected bright pink outfits that liken Witherspoon to Elle Woods. At Saturday night’s Elle World photocall, Witherspoon wore a pink dress from Prada’s Fall 2026 ready-to-wear collection.

“Elle” is a prequel series to “Legally Blonde,” which depicts the formative high school years of the main character, played by Lexi Minnettree. The series will debut on Prime Video on July 1st.
