Rashida Jones joins Danish hair care brand Harklinikken

Rashida Jones has been appointed as the new creative advisor and partner of Danish scalp and hair health brand Harkliniken.

She will work with founder Lars Skjos and advise on campaigns, content, consumer engagement and strategic partnerships, it was revealed on Tuesday. This marks Jones’ first foray into the burgeoning hair business beyond traditional celebrity collaborations and ambassador roles.

Jones approaches this category with her own hair health journey and past insecurities at the forefront. The “I Love You, Man” star suffered from very thin hair when he was younger. “My hair was so thin that it was hard to get it into a proper ponytail,” she told WWD in an exclusive interview, noting that the problem worsened after giving birth. “When I had a child in my 40s, I lost a lot of hair, as expected, but what I didn’t expect was that it never grew back.”

Thankfully, she met Skjoss a year and a half later at a clinic in Los Angeles, but the encounter was less kismet and more a cry to the hair gods. Now, Jones wants the other side to pay for it. “Hair is a very personal part of a person’s image and confidence, so I felt a lot of shame and stress about it,” she said. “The first thing I liked about Harkliniken is that it is a very modest brand. Its success lies in people sharing their personal, intimate experiences with friends and acquaintances. Lars is very humble and focused on the science, maximizing growth. I want to help scale this globally, because I think people all over the world could benefit from a larger platform.”

This partnership was a natural progression for Jones and Skjos, who have developed a close friendship. “I asked if there was a way I could work with him and the team at Harkliniken. I did so because I know how effective their system is. It was life-changing for me personally. I know how passionate I am about my work and how much I continue to explore and innovate when it comes to hair and scalp health, and I want to share this with others who can similarly benefit from my products and their results.”

Over the past 34 years, Skjos has built Harklinikken as a science-backed ritual across several product categories, from traditional shampoos and conditioners to supplements, styling tools and towels. Innovative products like Hair Grown Extract, enriched with ingredients such as burdock, sterols, fatty acids and tannins, are designed to strengthen the scalp and promote thicker, fuller growth. The brand operates six clinics in Copenhagen. Aarhus, Denmark. Reykjavik, Iceland. Dubai; New York; and Beverly Hills. Last year, as part of the brand’s broader expansion strategy, its hero product line and signature scalp consultation were brought to celebrity facialist Joanna Czech’s New York, Dallas and Los Angeles studios.
