Blonde hair was the talk of all the beauty at the 2026 BET Awards in Los Angeles. There, A-listers and artists gathered to celebrate the year’s breakout black creators, including Teyana Taylor, who was nominated for an Oscar for “One Battle After Another.”
Lizzo, Chloe Bailey and Tia Mowry were among those leading the movement outside the Peacock Theater on Sunday night, layering bright blonde shades on their brunette roots. Meanwhile, other guests like Doechii added subtle texture with hints of red in her dark braids. WWD brings you the biggest blonde moments on the BET Awards carpet.

Chloe Bailey, in an hourglass Valdrine Sahiti dress, continued her blonde bob days, pairing her cored style with strict liner along the waterline and clusters of lashes. The aesthetic, with the ends flipped and the top layer curled and hairsprayed in place, is reminiscent of the poodle bob trend that was popular in the 1940s. Stylist Fetha Nu created a similar look for Bayley in her music video “Resurrection,” released in early June. However, Nu is yet to be credited as the architect behind her blonde bob at the BET Awards. WWD has asked for confirmation.

Accentuating the gold hue of her beaded dress, Tia Mowry tied her blonde hair into long box braids on the carpet. The “Twitches” star likely collaborated with longtime stylist Marquita Lynch, whose A-list client list includes Zendaya, Alexa Demy, Lizzo, and more. WWD has reached out to Lynch for confirmation.

Lizzo went wild with her honey blonde highlights on Sunday night, styling her long extensions in tight coils in front of her dress. On the top, melted caramel roots were teased into just the right texture to create a voluminous look. Recently, the “Truth Hurts” singer has tapped artists Chelvenice Swain and Mathieu Jean-Pierre to bring her hair visions to life. However, this look was created by Kim Kimble.

Wearing a neon green knit ensemble, Eva Marcille teamed her bleached hair with bleached eyebrows on the carpet. Her head was shaved into a super short pixie cut with the help of hairstylist Terrell Marin, who also created the moody eye makeup and nude lip.
