The Narwal Flow 2 is the perfect robot vacuum for those who are serious about the cleanliness of their hard floors. Walking around the house barefoot requires a certain level of confidence in cleanliness. The Flow 2 has elbow grease between the heavy-duty XL roller and hot water mop to absorb large liquid spills and dissolve and remove sticky and oily droplets without making a mess.
If your home is prone to spills, perhaps from children, pets, or frequent guests, Flow 2’s accurate obstruction and clutter detection technology will solve major disruptions in the moment.
If you’ve sworn off mopping robot vacuums because your cheap robot vacuums left dirty water on your floors, you should consider a roller mop robot vacuum next. Narwal Flow 2 is my top choice until mid-2026. The main reason for that is that I never took the spot off in the few months I tested it.
Roller mop robot vacuums reduce mess in several ways. Materials like bath towels are already thick and absorbent and are constantly rinsed to prevent spills from being dragged onto the clean floor. If the rollers get too dirty during a big clean, Flow 2 automatically returns to the dock mid-clean and rinses the mop with hot water. In fact, the Flow 2’s rollers have flat sides, like a conveyor belt, which Narwal says allows for more direct surface coverage than the cylindrical roller mop strips hitting the floor.
In my testing, the Flow 2 consistently mopped up spills of varying densities, from real liquids like red wine and milk to gooey splatters like pancake batter, thick pasta sauce, and, most memorably, clumps of dried syrup. The Flow 2 is one of the few robot vacuums that mops with hot water, allowing you to dissolve syrup without leaving your floors sticky. The Flow 2 handles oily or greasy liquids better than robots that mop with room temperature water because hot water makes the grease slimy and loosens bonds that make hard surfaces difficult to remove with force alone. While dry vacuuming, the Flow 2 did a great job of removing cat hair and small debris on rugs and grains, cat litter, dirt, and crushed dried flowers on hard floors. We appreciate that this app allows up to three cleaning passes in the same session.
The Flow 2 is also a very thorough cleaner because it knows what kind of dirt it’s dealing with. Its AI spill detection is the most intuitive I’ve seen in 2026. Flow 2 takes a “before” photo when it approaches a mess larger than a few crumbs or a single water drop. After cleaning the remaining areas, Flow 2 returns to the dirty area and intensively cleans the zone. My Narwal app was also filled with photos of extension cords, phone chargers, shoes, and random cat toys that Flow 2 found in my apartment while cleaning. Even if those objects aren’t directly in your way. Not everyone has time to clean up every day before taking out their robot vacuum, so it’s reassuring to see direct evidence that the Flow 2 is actually reacting to obstacles in real time.
