When iRobot filed for bankruptcy last December, no one knew if a new Roomba would ever be released again. iRobot confirmed its plans for a comeback in a big announcement on July 7th. This is the first new Roomba released since iRobot transferred ownership to its manufacturer, Picea.

Most of the five new Roomba robot vacuums and the new cordless upright dry Roomba vacuums are available for purchase now. Additional products will be available for shipping in the coming weeks. Here’s a quick summary of the 2026 lineup:

It’s a shame that the pink Mini Roomba hasn’t arrived in the US yet, but let’s take a look at some other big developments.

The Roomba Electro Plus is probably the most fun addition to your family. In fact, this isn’t iRobot’s first foray into non-robot vacuums. The retired iRobot H1 handheld vacuum cleaner is buried deep in iRobot niche lore. The Roomba Electro Plus has so many great features that it’s easy to forget. If it can resonate more with consumers than Dyson’s latest attempt to enter the robot vacuum space, it’s already a W in my book.

The brand’s first upright cordless wet/dry vacuum cleaner electrolyzes regular tap water without chemicals, killing 99.99 percent of germs and bacteria on surfaces. The roller mop cleans wet and dry dirt in the same pass and cleans automatically while charging the ThermaClean dock. The Roomba Electro Plus costs just $399.99, which feels pretty affordable when you compare it to similar wet-dry vacuums from Roborock, Mova, Tineco, and Dreame.

But as someone who tests new robot vacuums every month, I had other questions. Are any of these Roombas good enough to make it onto our list of the best robot vacuums of 2026?

When I first skimmed the press release, a few key points caught my eye. First, the good news: The prices for these Roombas aren’t as delusional as they have been in the past.

Before the bankruptcy, most Roombas were too expensive for basic features. Competing brands offered the same basic cleaning and maintenance features for much less. iRobot and new owner Picea are now a little more practical.

The Roomba Max 775 and its heated spot mop really stood out to me. At $999.99, the Roomba Max 775 may be the most affordable roller mop robot vacuum that actively uses hot water while scrubbing. That was one of my favorite things about the $1,499.99 Narwal 2 Flow.

In terms of suction power, these new Roombas are a much better value than past Roombas. iRobot typically does not list suction force measurements in Pascals (Pa) for easy comparison with other RoboVacs. I was able to confirm the numbers with iRobot via email. Roomba Plus 415 is 20,000 Pa, Roomba Plus 515 is 25,000 Pa, Roomba Plus 515 is 22,000 Pa, Roomba Max 775 and Max 715 are 30,000 Pa. For reference, the most powerful robot vacuums currently on the market have a suction power of 35,000-36,000Pa, so even 30,000Pa is pretty ferocious.

Given statistics like these, the two most premium Roombas could easily earn a spot as one of the best robot vacuum and mop combos of the year.

The big red flag is that only two of the new Roombas have PrecisionVision AI (iRobot’s version of small obstacle avoidance technology), and of course, these are the two most expensive models. Both Roborock and Dreame have several robot vacuums in the $500 to $800 price range that can avoid obstacles like cords, socks, and pet waste. If iRobot really wants to change consumers’ minds about its value as a brand, it can’t just reserve those core features for its premium models.
