A few members of the Washington -Capitol Hill are trying to attract federal financial assistance from universities participating in commercial boycots in Israel.

The Protect Economic Freedom Act, introduced by Virginia Fox representatives and Josh Gottimer (DN.j.) on Tuesday, emphasizes issues that some Democrats have demonstrated the will of Republican members. Handling of College’s anti -war protests in the increase in discriminatory complaints from Jewish students.

There is little possibility that this measure will pass next year before a new parliament is planning to re -introduce it. The law is alerted by President of Republican Republican Party, which threatened the state anti -boycott law to universities that approve of the sale policy.

As the chairman of the U.S. House of Representatives Board of Education, FOXX supervised the parliamentary hearing and focused on anti -Semitism on a university campus, which led to the exile of several Ivy League in the past year. Gototimer is part of the Jewish People’s Congress, a Congress, who found an unusual field of supervisor agreements when criticizing university managers in the turmoil prompted by the war in Israel Hamas.

Gottheimer was a fierce critic of boycott, selling, sanctions, and BDS movements, and increased steam on university campus in spring.

Dismissance and explanation: Parent Palestine protests encourage the university to sell from Israel. What does that mean?

“The new super -party protection and economic free law will provide the Ministry of Education a new tool to fight against the anti -Semit BDS movement on university campus,” Gotheimer stated on Tuesday. “We must take necessary measures to protect the Jewish community more than ever.”

Through loans or subsidies, millions of university students in the United States are relying on some form of federal financial assistance. There are already many rules, including the fact that the university is in accordance with the discrimination law to receive the money. Technically, the Federal Education Bureau has the authority to make a school fund if the survey is determined to violate those laws, but rarely occurs.

Most universities receive some form of funds from the federal government, even private universities. The access to these dollars has recently become political, as Washington’s member of the Diet strengthened the university scrutiny.

Last spring, some schools took measures to relieve them, bringing a call from students nationwide, which demanded that universities would break their relationship with the Israeli government. In May, the Council of the Unionism School in New York has approved a proposal from a company, according to a school, “Support and profit of innocent civilians in Palestine.” San Francisco State University said in August that the Foundation would stop investing in companies that make money from weapons production.

However, in other schools, the protests were slow because the school administrator refused to sell the proposition.
