Police said that five people were shot dead at the Swedish adult Education Center on Tuesday.
Sweden’s telecommunications company TT reported that the perpetrator had died in suicide without providing the source. The police did not confirm the report immediately, but was planning a 1430 GMT press conference.
The Adult Education Center is located on the outskirts of Olebro, about 200 km west of Stockholm.
A school called Campus Lisberguska offers services to students over the age of 20, according to their website. Elementary and high school courses are provided, providing Sweden classes for programs for immigrants, vocational training, and intellectual disabilities.
The video on the site showed a major presence of the police and other emergency vehicles. The students were evacuating to a nearby building. Other parts of the school were evacuated after shooting at around 12:30 pm local time (1130 GMT).
28 -year -old Andreas Sungling was among those who had to barricade themselves in school.
“We heard three bangs and loud shouts,” he told the Expressen newspaper while evacuating in the classroom. “Now we are sitting here, waiting to evacuate from school. The information we received is that we should sit down and wait.”
It was not clear that the police were counting perpetrators in five shots. The degree of the injury of the victim was not clear immediately. Police said that police were not shot dead during violence.
“The report of violence in Orebro is very serious. Police are on the spot and the strategy is full -fledged,” said Minister of Justice Gunner Stromar.
In a press conference on the Swedish employment market, another government officials have dealt with violence in Olebro, which has about 155,000 population.
“The government has been developing very well and has continuous dialogue with the police,” said Matt Parson, Minister of Employment, said on Tuesday.
