Austin’s Uber customer may notice a new offer when the app is opened.

For now, this is not converted to Waymo to pick up. But it will be soon.

The interest list, which started on Wednesday, is part of the Uber and Waymo partnership to operate the Robotaxi service in Austin and Atlanta in early 2025. Neither company to share the official start, but this service is expected to begin soon. date. On Wednesday, a new joint brand Robotaxi was also revealed.

The Waymo On Uber Robotaxi Service is the latest example of Uber’s Uber is pushed back to an autonomous car. In December 2020, Uber sold a unique subsidiary known as Uber ATG through complex transactions with Aurora. Ironically, Uber and Waymo were Arch Rivals. Waymo (at that time, part of Google/Alphabet, and today it was part of the majority shareholders) -Uber finally solved the suit.

For the past few years, Uber has reinforced its emerging Robotaxi market. The company is affiliated with 14 autonomous car companies that cover riding, delivery, and truck transportation. In December, Uber launched Robotaxi Rides on ABU DHABI, and Waymo’s automatic driving car was available in the PHOENIX Uber app from October 2023.

However, in Austin and Atlanta, the agreement with Waymo is more exclusive.

Under the partnership, only Uber users can get out of Waymo’s autonomous Jaguar i -paced fleet. (In Phoenix, Waymo operates the fleet.) Uber hands out, maintain and clean automatic driving cars, and manage access to Robotaxis through apps. Waymo continues to monitor technology and autonomous operation, including rider support.

Waymo Robotaxis can be used by customers within 37 square miles from Austin, such as downtown, hyd -park, and Monter Police. Companies said they would expand their territory. The Waymo Robotaxi fleet will start to start, but Uber will not disclose numbers, but will eventually grow into hundreds of vehicles in both Orstin and Atlanta over the next few years. 。

According to Uber, the rider who matches Waymo will pay the same rate as the human -led options such as Uberx and Uber Comfort.

Customers who sign up to the “Interest List” will receive updates from Uber and increase the possibility of matching Waymo’s autonomous driving cars at the time of release. To participate, Austin’s Uber customer needs to update the app and then move to the settings. From here, the customer needs to click on the ride settings and display the list of automatic cars.
