Flights across Russia are based after a cyberattack struck Aeroflot on Monday, the country’s biggest airline.

Although details of the cyberattack remain limited, a group of pro-woman hackers known for targeting a Russian organisation called the Silent Crow has gained credibility in the cyberattack along with Belarusian hackers, citing Russia’s ongoing war in Ukraine.

The group said in a Telegram post seen by TechCrunch that it controlled Aeroflot’s critical systems, including terabytes of internal corporate data. The group said it “destroyed” the airline’s systems that it has access to. Screenshots posted by hackers are said to show access to several Aeroflot systems, including internal active directories and several file sharing for internal users.

The hacker also claimed to have personal data for all Russians “who have “flyed on Aeroflot.”

The Aeroflot website is currently unavailable on Monday, and the error message was “temporarily restricted.”

Video from inside Moscow’s Sheremeevo Airport (photo) shows a departure screen showing dozens of cancelled flights.

A statement from Russian prosecutors confirmed that more than 60 flights have been cancelled, citing “hacker attacks.” Prosecutors said they have launched a criminal investigation into a cyber attack.
