In the main event in Las Vegas, number one contender Ankaraev disrupts UFC light heavyweight champion Alex Pereira.

Ankaraev, who was a smashed out of the surprising upset with his unanimous decision to take Alex Pereira’s indisputable light heavyweight belt at UFC 313 in Las Vegas.

All three judges scored in favor of Ankaraev (21-1-1) in the clash on Saturday night.

Ankalaev fought a tactical and measured match to unlock Pereira. Pereira struggled to create opportunities with the octagon to unleash the left hook of his signature against the Dagestan fighter.

“We knew it was going to be a war,” Pereira (12-3-0) said. “All my battles are war.”

Pereira’s loss to Ankaraev ends a highly publicized streak of last year’s three title defenses. The victory made Pereira the second fastest fighter in four title defenses in UFC history.

In the joint main event, third-place lightweight and fan favorite Justingeche (27-5-0) won a unanimous decision against 11 Rafael Fiziev (12-4-0).

Gaethje was planning to fight Dan Hooker. Gaethje dropped Fijief in the second round with a right uppercut.
