Amazon makes the color screen Kindle more affordable. After the launch of Kindle Colorsoft last year, retailers on Thursday introduced a low-cost version of the device, typically $279.99. The new device offers a $30 discount on 16GB storage rather than 32GB, reducing the cost to $249.99. Kids Edition is now available.
The original 7-inch Kindle Colorsoft Signature Edition is designed to bring an engaging visual experience to the popular Kindle E-Reader, making it perfect for browsing comics and other graphic novels for viewing digitally or highlighting them in a variety of colors. The device offers an adjustable glare-free display with a battery life of up to 8 weeks, allowing users to even flip the black text and white background of the page for those who prefer a dark mode-like experience.
The new 16GB model also features a high contrast Colorsoft display including the original, adjustable warm light, battery life and high-speed page turns. It also includes a three-month Kindle Unlimited subscription that offers access to over 4 million e-books.
However, it does not include auto-adjusted front lights, wireless charging, or larger storage space for the signature version.

Kindle Colorsoft Kids offers illustrated covers, a two-year warranty and 1 year access to Amazon Kids+ Subscription+ Books, games, videos, apps and more. The $269.99 device includes several features that will help kids practice reading. This includes a vocabulary builder, a feature called Word Wise that helps you learn new words, Opendyslexic fonts, and a Bluetooth connection for listening to Audiobooks.
