Amy Adams continued her promotional tour for “Cape Fear” in a little black dress when she appeared on “Late Night with Seth Meyers” in New York City on Tuesday.
The Oscar-nominated actress wore a black wrap dress with long sleeves and a sharp collar. The LBD features a plunging V-shaped neckline and includes a cinch at the waist to further define the silhouette thanks to a belt with delicate jewel details.

The dress’s skirt flows with a midi-length hemline for ease of movement, and Adams completed the outfit with strappy black sandal heels, reinforcing the monochromatic approach she took to her late-night outfits.
Throughout the “Cape Fear” press tour, Adams has been working with stylist Petra Flannery, whose client list includes Oscar winners Emma Stone and Zoe Saldaña. Loose fits and flowing dresses have been a staple of her promotional tours so far.

At the miniseries’ Los Angeles premiere on June 2, Flannery focused on Brandon Maxwell’s fall 2026 ready-to-wear collection for Adams’ outfit. It was a white shift dress with a black belt around the waist to tighten the silhouette.
For Monday night’s appearance on “The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon,” Flannery chose a look from Versace’s Spring 2026 ready-to-wear collection. The collection debuted during Milan Fashion Week in September 2025 and is the only collection from the Italian luxury fashion house by former creative director Dario Vitale.

Based on the novel “The Executioner,” by John D. Macdonald, “Cape Fear” tells the story of a married couple, Tom and Anna, played by Patrick Wilson and Adams, who are teased by newly released murderer Max Cady (played by Javier Bardem) and seek revenge by stalking their family. New episodes of the series will stream on Apple TV on Fridays.
