The All-Party Parliament Group for Events (APPG) held the new parliamentary dinner in the House on Wednesday, bringing together key figures from the UK events sector and senior political stakeholders.

The dinner, hosted by Telford’s MP and APPG Chair Shaun Davies, welcomed lawmakers, including several Appg officers, along with the group and individual company members.

Participants included Beam representatives, as well as representatives from the Scotland Event Campus (SEC), Togather, Event Hire Association, Experience Oxfordshire, Raccoon Media Group, Manchester Central, The Association of Event Venues (AEV), and Meetings Industry Association (MIA).

Businesses from the Culture, Media & Sports department, Visitbritain, ICC Wales, Northstar Travel Group and Industry Think Tank events also took part in the evening.

Dinner served as an important platform for strengthening the UK’s events industry and parliamentary relationship, allowing industry leaders to engage directly with policymakers and discuss sector priorities, challenges and growth opportunities.

“We’re looking forward to seeing you in the future,” said Mike Seaman, group CEO of Raccoon Media Group. “This way you restore a lot of your faith in the politicians when you interact with them, and most of them are really there for the right reasons.

The APPG is managed by Business of Events, an independent industry think tank that also serves as a special advisor to the group.

“We’ve been working hard to get into the business news and content of the event,” said Mike Fletcher, director of business news and content for the event. “This dinner was a timely and important opportunity for the event industry to gather together with the government in the spirit of collaboration. Appg will play an important role in ensuring that the voices of the sector are heard in Westminster.
