Apple appeals court decisions that forced them to allow links to external payments for the app

As promised, Apple is currently submitting an appeal in a recent court decision, requiring that it opens an App Store in an external payment mechanism.

Last week, Judge Yvonne Gonzalez Rogers tasked with opposing court orders in his fight against Fortnite Maker Epic Games by not allowing the tech giant to freely link the app to alternative payment options other than the US App Store. This decision postpones Apple’s profitable App Store business in the US. This relies on adopting fees for in-app purchases such as virtual items, subscriptions, and premium upgrades.

In her ruling, Rogers reminded Apple that “this is an injunction, not a negotiation,” but called for Apple to attempt to route court orders with excessive requirements and rules. Additionally, the court accused Apple’s vice president of finance, Alex Roman of lying under oath, and referred the matter to a US lawyer’s office to determine whether criminal cont crime proceedings were necessary.

Following the judge’s decision, Apple quickly complied with the ruling, changed App Store rules for US developers, accepted updates to apps like Spotify, and referenced other in-app purchase methods. However, Apple also said it strongly opposed the court’s decision and pointed out that it would appeal.

Court documents say the notice of the appeal was filed by Apple on Monday, indicating Apple’s threat to combat control positions.

Apple believed that it followed the letter of law by allowing app developers to request qualifications (an exception to the App Store rules), but also requested a 27% fee for purchases made outside the App Store. I also had to use “Scare Screens” or full screen pop-up messages. Consumers were warning consumers of the risk of making in-app purchases from the app developer’s own website.

As the appeal process arises, Apple will continue to comply with the court’s decision.

However, if Apple knows that this fight is lost, another way to seduce developers could be created.

For example, Apple can announce discount committees at the upcoming Worldwide Developers Conference in June, not just for small business programs, but for all developers.
