Apple has been sued in federal court for what plaintiffs allegedly were false advertisements for some Apple Intelligence features.
The lawsuit, filed Wednesday in U.S. District Court in San Jose, seeks class action status and damages on behalf of those who purchased iPhones and other devices available to Apple Intelligence. The plaintiffs allege that the device owner has not received the promised Apple Intelligence features.
“Apple Ads [cultivated] Read complaints filed by lawyers for the plaintiff. “Contrary to the defendant’s claims of advanced AI capabilities, the product provided a significantly limited or fully existing version of Apple Intelligence, misleading consumers about its actual usefulness and performance.”
This suit is the latest headache for Apple as it struggles to provide the highly anticipated Apple Intelligence capabilities to the market. Bloomberg reported on Thursday that Apple CEO Tim Cook “has lost confidence in AI head John Giannandrea’s ability to carry out product development.”
