Barcelona coach Hansi Frick said he is focused on winning the game despite the potential punishment threat for a lineup that is not qualified to purr in the background.

Flick chose Inigo Martinez after a 3-0 defeat at Lariga on Thursday after the Spanish defender was injured by the national team for a recent Nations League match.

Osasuna on Friday called to the Spanish Football Federation over Martinez’s ineligible, citing FIFA rules regarding players not participating with the national team when called.

“We scored three points, and this is my focus, so I’m focusing on my next match against Girona,” Flick told a press conference on Saturday the day before Lariga leader Barcelona’s host Girona.

“Nothing else is in my hands, it’s not about me.”

FIFA rules say players cannot appear at the club within five days of the last national team match without federal permission.

Martinez played 90 minutes with Osasuna after breaking out of international obligations with knee discomfort as Barcelona took a three-point lead at the top of the table.

The match took place on Thursday after it was first postponed from March 8th, when the Barca Club doctors died.

Flick was alongside Osasuna alongside star striker Robert Lewandowski on the bench, but he scored when he later appeared as an alternative.

The Polish veteran scored 23 goals for Lariga, leading the scoring chart known as Pichichi, ahead of Real Madrid’s Killian Mbappe in 2022.

“Lewandowski is focused on not only getting Pichichi, but on the success of the team,” Flick says.

“Of course he wants to score goals, he wants to play, but he also sees what the team needs.

“This is really proud of Ruby’s actions. It’s a really great situation, a great moment and I’m really grateful for that because everything went the right path for Osasuna.”

Flick also said his Barcelona side will be preparing for the challenges of a game packed schedule until the end of the season as they bid on silverware on three fronts.

Over the next 17 days, they will play six matches in all competitions.

“You never know that [recovery time]even if there’s a day, two or two to recover. It will definitely be a huge challenge waiting for us from now until the end of the season,” Flick told reporters.

“We are ready and want to fight until the end of the season. We all feel very proud of our match against Osasuna.”

Real Madrid pulled out the level in a 3-2 victory over Regen in points against Barca at Lariga’s top, but Barcelona has the advantage of 18 goals on goal differences.
