Adobe plans to bring video editing software, Premiere, to the iPhone. The company has listed the app on the App Store with pre-order links and expected release dates on September 30th.
The company said the premiere on the iPhone allows users to edit videos and export them without watermark. This app has the same features as the desktop version, including the ability to trim, layer and fine-tune frames. It also comes with automatic captions with stylized subtitles, support for video, audio and text layers, and 4K HDR support.
Also, in line with efforts elsewhere, Adobe is offering apps AI features powered by Firefly models. The iOS premier allows users to generate images, audio, or video using text prompts. The company has also opened access to a stock library of music, sound effects, photos, graphics and videos, as well as fonts and presets from the photo editing app Lightroom. The app also has the “enhance speech” feature, which suppresses background noise when recording clips in large environments.
The iPhone Premium is free to use, but users will have to pay for AI credits and cloud storage usage. The Android version is already under development, but the company did not mention the release date.
The company’s move to bring flagship video editing apps to iPhones is rising amid increasing competition to attract creators who make short videos for Tiktok, Instagram and YouTube shorts. Earlier this year, Meta released a video editing app called Edit, with the A16Z backed caption switching to the freemium model to reach more viewers.
Adobe is focused on bringing more creative apps to its mobile platform. The company launched Photoshop for iOS in February and released the beta version of Android app in June. We also released another app for Firefly on both iOS and Android in June.
