Cameo partners with TikTok to boost popularity

In a bid to regain its popularity, celebrity greetings app Cameo has launched a new TikTok integration. This will allow creators in the US to offer personalized Cameo videos directly to their fans through the short-form video app.

The new partnership aims to help creators increase revenue while simplifying the process for fans to request cameo videos. Creators will be able to sign up and offer personalized messages within TikTok, giving their followers easy access to the service alongside the content they’re already engaging with. For creators who already use Cameo, this integration will help them reach a wider audience.

This integration is a smart move for Cameo as it leverages TikTok’s millions of creators and its extensive fan base. TikTokers are one of the fastest growing segments on the platform, with popular TikTok stars like Ash Trevino, Alex Dougherty, and Smooth Papi currently topping Cameo’s leaderboards.

Cameo CEO Steven Galanis said in a statement that “Cameo videos regularly go viral on TikTok” and that “TikTok’s talent delivered Cameo’s strongest year yet in 2025.”

Cameo was once valued at $1 billion at the peak of the COVID-19 pandemic and offered fans the chance to connect with their favorite celebrities through personalized video messages. However, the company suffered a significant downturn in 2024, and its valuation fell by more than 90%. It has also struggled to meet its financial obligations, including a hefty $600,000 fine imposed by the Federal Trade Commission. Last year, in a bid to regain attention, Cameo launched a birthday planning app called Candl.

The partnership also reflects a broader trend in the media landscape, where companies increasingly recognize the value of influencers to enhance their offerings. Streaming services like Tubi and Peacock have recently partnered with popular creators to create original content.

TikTok already has several features that encourage interaction between fans and creators, including the ability to send tips, virtual gifts and subscriptions, and a newly launched “bulletin board” for creators to share public messages with their followers.
