Boston Dynamics unveiled a prototype of its humanoid robot Atlas at CES 2026, demonstrating its movements as it walked across the stage. But the audience also got a glimpse of the production Atlas, shown above.

Zach Jackowski, vice president and general manager of Atlas at Boston Dynamics, and Aya Durbin, product lead for humanoid applications at Boston Dynamics, shared some of the Atlas specifications. For example, this version has 56 degrees of freedom, most with fully rotating joints, and a human-scale hand with tactile sensors in the fingers and palm for dexterity.

The Atlas also has a 360-degree camera that can see in all directions, so it can recognize when people are approaching and can lift up to 110 pounds. According to executives, Atlas is also water resistant in real-world industrial environments that robots must withstand, including strength from -4°F to 104°F, allowing it to operate to its full potential. Stay tuned for more information on Atlas!

Oh, and it’s already in production, Jackowski said, adding that the entire 2026 supply has already been allocated to Hyundai Motor Group and our “new AI partner.” Please look forward to that news.
