Aaron Heath is Chief Information Security Officer (CISO) and Cybersecurity Advisor at the South Carolina Medical College (MUSC). He began his career in 2014 before moving to MUSC’s information security. In a legal background, his expertise includes incident response, forensic medicine and regulatory compliance. Aaron holds CISSP certification, is a licensed South Carolina lawyer and founded a cybersecurity consulting company for small and medium-sized businesses. Before becoming CISO, he worked as a secondary advisor to MUSC, focusing on security, privacy, IT trading and healthcare laws.

His extensive career includes his role as Chief Technology Adviser and Deputy CIO for the US Marine Corps, and nearly a decade as a civil nuclear engineer for the US Navy.

He also leads security programs at Anthem/Elevance Health and holds CISSP, CISA and CCSK certifications.
