Context is a new productivity startup built entirely around AI, raising $11 million in seed funding at a $70 million valuation. The round was led by Lux Capital with support from Qualcomm Ventures, General Catalyst and others. The company claims it was the first true AI-Native Office Suite. And judging from over 60,000 people already on the waitlist, it got nervous.

The startup was a tiel fellow in 2024 and will repeat the founder of AI with a product already used by millions of people. He pulled talent from Stanford, Google, Microsoft Research, Heygen and other high-growth teams. the goal? Rather than bashing AI on old software, we’ll rethink how we handle documents, data, and presentations by rethinking productivity from scratch.

Problem: Legacy Tools Still Dominate

If you have used spreadsheets or word processors in the last decade, you will notice how unchanged they have not changed since the 1990s. We still manually enter cells, format slides, and stitch together reports. In many cases, the same task is repeated weekly. Research shows that this type of busy work loses trillions of wasted time and billions of productivity each year.

Large tech companies have tried to bolt AI to existing tools, but the results seem disjointed. The legacy code was not built for this. This is where context appears.

Instead of modifying older products, Context is burning AI on every layer to build a new office suite from scratch. Its context engine can process huge amounts of information (over 50 million tokens) without losing threads. Users upload notes, files, or initial drafts and explain what they need. The context receives it from it, generates reports, presentations, spreadsheets, and is almost final and ready for refinement or sharing.

All of these run locally and are supported across the web, desktop and mobile, allowing corporate and government clients to have more control over the presence of their data.

What the context provides

The suite of contexts includes AI-driven tools built to replace normal manual grinds. Its AI document functionality allows you to turn your RAW notes or some prompts into sophisticated reports, suggestions, or white papers. For presentations, AI slides build executive-enabled decks in a structured format and clean narrative flow.

When it comes to count calculations, AI spreadsheets handle complex data analysis, predictions and visualizations. No formula is required. Developers can use data analysts to speed up coding tasks, from generating new scripts to reviewing and debugging existing scripts.

Do you need a quick answer from an internal or external data source? Deep research brings together accurate and synthesized responses. Enterprise search also allows users to instantly surface insights buried in tools, files, and conversations. You can find important things through noise.

“Over trillion hours of productivity are wasted every year on mundane tasks like building reports, slides, spreadsheets, and more. Everything is equipped with information that already exists within the organization.” “Our mission is to unleash knowledge workers by creating the world’s most trusted, sophisticated, and secure productivity platform for individuals, businesses and governments.”

Backed by Lux and Qualcomm, Context debuts $70 million AI office suite to kill Busywork

Context worked with Qualcomm to help run AI tools directly on devices using Qualcomm’s next-generation NPUs. This means faster results, security contours, and the default productivity layer for the next wave of AI-enabled PCs.

“Context will become the backbone of AI-powered productivity, unlocking billions of value that are now trapped in Fortune 500S and government legacy workflows,” said Tushar Gupta, North America Managing Director at Qualcomm Ventures. “We are excited to partner closely with a visionary team that is truly changing the future of knowledge work.”

Headquartered in Palo Alto, the context places itself as more than just another office tool. I want to exchange the entire category. It may be something you’ll often watch, backed by products built for top-tier investors and AI.
