Google celebrates 10 years of Google photography with the launch of a redesigned editor. The redesign adds new AI features (rethinking and autoframes) that were previously only available on pixel devices, bringing the tool to more users’ hands.

The Reimagine feature uses generation AI to convert objects and backgrounds in a photo using text prompts. For example, you could ask one dark sky in your photo to replace it with a “transparent blue sky.”

The auto-frame feature suggests various ways to frame photos. This is a variety of ways, whether trimming, scaling, or using generated AI to fill blank spaces.

Google says the new editor will provide useful suggestions for users and place all editing tools in one place. Quick editing and AI-powered suggestions combine new “AI Enhance” options with multiple effects. For example, you can combine AI effects such as image sharpening and object deletion.

Alternatively, you can tap on a specific part of the photo to get the suggested tool to edit that area. For example, Google might suggest adjusting the lighting or blurring the background.

Google points out that the redesign will be rolled out globally on Android devices next month, with iOS continuing later this year.

Tech Giant also announced that they can share the album with QR codes to make the album easier to access by others around them. You can also print codes for group events. This event allows anyone with code to view and add photos to the album.
