A few hours after Italian authorities demanded information on how to process user data on DeepSeek, the AI Startup app in China is no longer available on Apple’s App Store and Google Play Store.

This app claims the top spots on the download charts in multiple countries, including the United States, which is the first position of the most downloaded app in both the App Store and Play Store.

The EUROCONSUMERS consumers complained to Italian DPA in connection with DeepSeek’s personal data processing practices. Authorities said today that they wrote a letter in DeepSeek to get information for the 20 -day reply deadline.

An important concern is that the Privacy Policy of DeepSeek is storing information on a server in China.

“If you transfer personal information from the country where you live, including one or more purposes described in this policy, we will do so according to the requirements of the relevant data protection law.”

Italian DPA was the first authority to take the official note of DeepSeek privacy policy, but other watchdogs in Europe are not explicitly referred to Deepseek, but regional AI and data protection. He states that it is necessary to respect the rules.

Apple and Google did not immediately comment on the story.
